Albian Sands supports projects that contribute meaningfully to the quality of life in the communities in which we live and operate.

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has much to offer and a lot to celebrate. Through targeted community investments and our employees' efforts, we contribute to projects that make Wood Buffalo a great place to live.

Our support extends to the Aboriginal communities of Wood Buffalo, both First Nations and Métis.

Projects in Communities Neighbouring our Operations

Locally, Albian funds not-for-profit organizations based in, or having impacts in, communities in the Regional Municipal of Wood Buffalo, where we have our operations. If you are from one of these communities and wish to submit an application, please apply via our online application form .

Projects Involving Albian People

The volunteer efforts of employees, retirees and marketing partners are recognized and rewarded by the Albian Community Service Fund, a unique program established to provide financial support to not-for-profit organizations where Albian employees regularly volunteer. The CSF provides grants of up to $1,000 per applicant. 

Ineligible Projects

  • For-profit organizations
  • Organizations that receive United Way funding as Albian's support is directed to United Way.
  • Requests from individuals as we focus our support on not-for-profit organizations
  • Travel expenses
  • Religious causes
  • Political parties or lobby groups
  • Projects where benefits occur outside Canada (see above for other funding options)

Application Process

Applicants must submit an online application form for all funding requests. We no longer accept applications by e-mail, phone, fax or mail.
