The Albian Sands Environmental and Safety System (ASESS) is a daily work-review process expected of anyone involved with the Albian Sands work site. All Albian Sands team members are involved in a daily ASSESSment of the environmental and safety quality of each individual, team and company daily. This assessment gives team members a chance to take responsibility for the quality performance of their work area and report on previous successes.

The Athabasca Oil Sands Project outstanding achievement of 12 million hours without a lost time injury earned the Project Shell Canada Limited President's Award for Safety in 2001.

At Albian Sands, safe means without harm to people, the environment, our assets or reputation.
